Diverse FM - A Diverse Radio for a Diverse Community

Divese FM will be broadcasting from the 15th July 2002 to 11th August 2002, 24 hours a day.  The programme and frequency will be posted here soon so keep an eye out for that and don't miss out!

For the first time in Luton in October 2000, Diverse FM created the opportunity for sixty different local organisations to take part in one project to promote their work for free.

It was possible to empower many groups from diverse backgrounds by:

Giving broadcasting and recording equipment training.
Training them to present the show on their own.
Assisting them in writing scripts for their own broadcasts.
Encouraging them to speak about different life experiences live on air, and exchange thoughts and ideas on issues that affect them in their communities.
Interview each other in their own private environments by using the pre-recording system provided.

This year, Diverse FM will be returning to the airwaves 15th July to 11th August, with funding from the Luton Health Action Zone and Luton Lives.  Below is a report from Mintu Uddin about what is happening this year with Diverse FM.
